Hi, I'm Bharat

bharat.has-a.tech

I'm Bharat Garsondiya, and I'm a professional student. Not in the sense that anyone pays me for it. I mean I've been studying some random thing or another for as long as I can remember, and I have no plans to stop. If you ask me what I'm learning right now, the honest answer is "yes."

Why I made this

In high school, and again in my first year, I wanted a website more than almost anything. A real one, with my name on it, that I could open from anywhere and show people. It just looked so cool.

What I didn't have was money for a domain. So I did what students do best: I figured out how to build things for free. Somewhere along the way that got slightly out of hand, and now I also run my own cloud storage at home. Apparently once you start, you can't stop.

has-a.tech is the thing I wish someone had handed me back then: a real address for your site that costs you nothing, with a guide that doesn't assume you already know everything.

Free, and staying that way

Computer science grew up on open source: people sharing code and knowledge so the next person can go further. has-a.tech works the same way. It's free, all of its code is public, and it's going to stay that way. No premium plan, no "free for the first year."

If anyone ever asks you to pay for a has-a.tech name, it isn't us. Please tell us.

Say hi

I like helping people, so if you get stuck, don't be shy. Open an issue on GitHub and I'll do my best to help. And if you build something cool on your has-a.tech address, I'd genuinely love to see it.

Want to help? The code for the register and this website is open, and contributions are welcome. Adding your school's email domain is a great first one.
